Assam Flood Emergency Appeal

For millions of people across Assam, the monsoon season has brought unimaginable devastation.

Weeks of relentless rainfall have caused rivers to overflow, sweeping through villages and leaving entire communities underwater. Homes have been destroyed, livelihoods washed away and families forced to flee with nothing but the clothes they were wearing.

More than 600,000 people have been affected, with thousands now living in temporary relief camps after losing everything they owned.

Among them is 18-year-old Saline, whose family watched helplessly as floodwaters tore through their home.

"We couldn't even save a glass to drink water from."

Stories like hers are being repeated across Assam.

Parents are struggling to feed their children. Elderly people have been displaced from the homes they spent years building. Many families are now sleeping in overcrowded shelters, uncertain when - or if - they will be able to return home.
